The Challenge
During a period of rapid growth and expansion, MOD needed a more efficient way to add stores in many different regions, while still maintaining a strong sense of brand and community connection no matter where they opened. Having outgrown its local roots, the company’s workflows were not designed to meet their growing needs. Being purpose-driven is a key to their differentiation in the fast casual pizza category, so this messaging needed to shine from every part of the store experience.
The Solution
To streamline approvals, DCG ONE assisted in visualizing the new concept stores in virtual reality (VR) so the brand consistency and spirit of each community could be captured efficiently. A marketing portal was launched to disseminate all retail signage more effectively to all regions and franchisees. The Agency helped develop and illustrate the Book of MOD manifesto to bring employees along on the journey of MOD Pizza. With our work on the purpose part of MOD, The Agency helped launch the first impact pizza, along with the MOD loyalty program.
The Results
MOD’s marketing team, company stores, and franchisees can view, order, and manage in-store visuals and campaigns across the country, with comprehensive reporting and outputs on any substrate that the designers can imagine. In the launch of the Impact Pizza, a campaign driven by The Agency at DCG ONE, MOD raised more than $50,000 for the JED Foundation for the prevention of teen suicide.
